Believe it or not, it's time to begin crowning state champions in high school football as Soldotna goes for six in a row in Alaska.

Perennial Nevada powerhouse carries streak nearing a decade of dominance. Soldotna sits on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska and is known as a prime fishing destination.
With a population of around 4,000, it might also be on the verge of becoming known for high school football.
The Stars (9-0) go for their sixth straight state title in a row Saturday night when they face
Palmer (5-4) for the Division II crown. A victory would tie Soldotna for the third longest state-title run in the country, tying it with
Lamar (Mo.).
