Baseball Recap: Excel Comes Up Short

Excel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Perry Central Bulldogs.

JP Norris made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Excel's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Perry Central, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Coming up, Excel will venture away from home to take on Satsuma at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Satsuma will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Excel surely won't give up without a fight. As for Perry Central, they have already played their next matchup, a 10-6 loss against Citronelle on the 15th.
