Preview: Green Hope Falcons vs. Holly Springs Golden Hawks
The Green Hope Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Holly Springs Golden Hawks at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Hope is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
On Tuesday, Green Hope was the victim of a tough 74-52 loss at the hands of Middle Creek.
Despite the defeat, Green Hope got a solid performance out of Rafik Khismatov, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for Khismatov. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Jackson, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Green Hope were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, even though Apex Friendship scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Holly Springs still came out on top. Holly Springs took their contest against Apex Friendship 68-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Holly Springs.
Green Hope's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Holly Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Green Hope was dealt a bruising 85-56 loss at the hands of Holly Springs in their previous matchup back in February. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Green Hope was down 48-18.
