Football Recap: Perris Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Perris played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 55-21 loss at the hands of the Rim of the World Fighting Scots. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Fighting Scots recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Perris saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Xavier Cruz threw for 114 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 104 yards on only six carries. Cruz is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season.

Tatum Ortiz was a one-man wrecking crew For Rim of the World. as he rushed for 277 yards and five TDs while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Those 277 rushing yards gave Ortiz a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Eli Stiansen, who rushed for 91 yards and one score on only five carries.

Perris now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Rim of the World, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perris will challenge Banning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rim of the World, they will square off against Antelope Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
