Soccer Preview: Windsor vs. Fort Collins
The Windsor Wizards will head out to challenge the Fort Collins Lambkins at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Windsor's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Fort Collins' offense will have their work cut out for them.
Windsor is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Fossil Ridge just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the SaberCats by a score of 2-1. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Windsor couldn't quite close it out.
Their goal came courtesy of Braely Martinez, who's now up to three this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Collins). They put the hurt on Greeley West with a sharp 10-0 victory on Tuesday. Fort Collins haven't had any issues with Greeley West recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-6-1. As for Windsor, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Windsor took their win against Fort Collins in their previous matchup back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Wizards have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lambkins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
