Basketball Preview: Rappahannock Raiders vs. Colonial Beach Drifters
Rappahannock is 8-2 against the Drifters since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Rappahannock Raiders will be playing at home against the Colonial Beach Drifters at 1:30 p.m. Rappahannock will be strutting in after a victory while the Drifters will be coming in after a loss.
Last Thursday, Rappahannock took their game at home with ease, bagging a 40-5 win over the Red Devils. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for Rappahannock this season.
Meanwhile, Colonial Beach lost to the Trojans on the road by a decisive 62-44 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Colonial Beach can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Trojans are ranked 132nd).
Rappahannock is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Colonial Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.
Rappahannock didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Drifters in their previous matchup on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 39-33 win.
