Baseball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-14 in the process. They lost 14-0 to the Harriton Rams. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since April 8th.

As for Harriton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Harriton's part, they let Gaven Bowman and Cole Chodkowski run wild. Bowman went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Chodkowski went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave Bowman a new career-high. Colin Sullivan was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will host Unionville at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harriton, they will welcome Archbishop Wood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
