Football Recap: Seymour's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

If Oxford wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Seymour, they should've done a better job of containing Connor Shea. The Wildcats managed a 7-3 victory over the Wolverines on Friday for which the team can thank Shea, who rushed for 175 yards. Shea is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season.

The win (which was Seymour's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.3 points on average this season. As for Oxford, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Seymour will challenge Wilby at 7:00 p.m. on October 4. As for Oxford, they will square off against Holy Cross at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
