Norwood had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Mountain Valley Wolves. The victory was nothing new for the Mavericks as they're now sitting on five straight dating back to last season.

Their offense was headlined by Darcy Bray and Holli Johnson, who picked up four kills apiece. They were helped by Ayva Davis and Josey Tedder, who contributed three assists each. Kieley Shepardson controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Coincidentally, Norwood and Mountain Valley will both be playing Creede the next time they take the court. The Wolves will head out to face the Miners at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mavericks will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
