Basketball Recap: Ness City Takes a Loss

If Ness City was feeling good fresh off their 64-28 takedown of Chase last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Ness City Eagles were dealt a 53-25 defeat at the hands of the Rawlins County Buffaloes on Tuesday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buffaloes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Ashlyn Tillitson was Ness City's leading scorer, having posted six points.

Rawlins County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Camden Franklin led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. Franklin has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tayten Dewey, who went 8 for 15 on her way to 18 points and seven boards.

Ness City has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Rawlins County, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Ness City has already played their next contest (against Dighton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rawlins County will challenge Quinter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Quinter will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Rawlins County surely won't give up without a fight.
