Marie Philip had won five straight games and Xavier DeLeon did his part to make it six on Wednesday. The Marie Philip Galloping Ghosts took down Waring 57-39 thanks in part to DeLeon, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 15 boards. He has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 36 times he's played.

Andrew Riebe was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (five).

Marie Philip pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Marie Philip will take on Katzenbach School for the Deaf in a tournament on Friday. As for Waring, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Commonwealth at 3:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
