Winona is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Noxubee County is on a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. Winona will challenge Noxubee County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Winona is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Aberdeen as they made off with a 42-20 win. The Tigers pushed the score to 35-14 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had little chance of recovering from.

Another reason for the win was Winona's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 7.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Quincy Burt and Navarius Davis, who racked up five sacks between them. Davis is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last six games he's played. Another thorn in Aberdeen's side was Brayden Flowers, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (1.5 for loss).
Meanwhile, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Noxubee County made off with a 34-33 victory over Choctaw County.
Noxubee County found their leader in sophomore Christon Glenn, who picked up 130 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Noxubee County's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Winona, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Winona has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 240.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Noxubee County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 196.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Winona didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Noxubee County in their previous meeting back in October, but they still walked away with a 31-26 win. Will Winona repeat their success, or does Noxubee County has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
