Softball Recap: Georgetown Day Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Georgetown Day put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the DC International Dragons with a sharp 22-5 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mighty Hoppers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.

Natalie Ogden made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Six bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Avery Snyder was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Snyder is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Isabella Yip, who scored three runs and stole Six bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Georgetown Day always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Georgetown Day's record now sits at 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown Day will head out to challenge Connelly School of the Holy Child at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Georgetown Day's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for DC International, they will take on Burke at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
