Baseball Game Preview: Hoffman Estates Hawks vs. Wheeling Wildcats

The Hoffman Estates Hawks will square off against the Wheeling Wildcats at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Hoffman Estates has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hoffman Estates lost 17-5 to Barrington on Wednesday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elk Grove hit Wheeling with a five-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grenadiers. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Grenadiers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Wheeling's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Hoffman Estates, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-16.
