Baseball Game Preview: Mount Morris Blue Devils vs. Geneseo Blue Devils

Mount Morris will take on Geneseo at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mount Morris blew Friendship out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Friendship got their revenge. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blue Devils have suffered since March 25th.

Elijah Clester made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Geneseo narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Pavilion 6-5. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Gldn Gophers: they've now won seven in a row.

Mount Morris' defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Geneseo, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Mount Morris might still be hurting after the 21-3 loss they got from Geneseo in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can Mount Morris avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
