League recap: Schalick stuns Highland Regional in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Schalick, who defeated 163rd ranked Highland Regional, 34-13. Tyrell Hart ran for 200 yards during the win.

John Gallo and Melvin Allen provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Tartans. The connection was good for 61 yards, the longest such play in West Jersey - Diamond this season.

The Cougars' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gallo threw for 131 and 2 touchdowns and Allen had 87 yards receiving. On the ground Hart contributed 200 yards. Jake Ebner helped Schalick's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 31 yards.

Dahkim Seals was a passing and rushing force as Penns Grove topped Gloucester Catholic. He completed 5 passes for 55 yards and also ran for 163 yards.

Jared Fox made the biggest impact on defense this week as Schalick beat Highland Regional. The 6-foot-1 freshman.

Hart was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Deandre Solomon added to the ground attack by rushing for 54 yards.

Schalick's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Gallo has thrown for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Allen has 4 catches for 95 yards.

Woodstown's Semaj Thomas recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against Glassboro last week. Thomas' team beat the Bulldogs as he sprinted for 84 yards on the play and finished with 130 in all.
