Basketball Game Preview: Morton Ranch Mavericks vs. Katy Tigers

Morton Ranch is 2-8 against Katy since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Morton Ranch Mavericks will welcome the Katy Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Morton Ranch knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Katy likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Morton Ranch was beaten by Seven Lakes 89-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (56), the Mavericks still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Katy unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Mayde Creek 58-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Rams are ranked 303rd).

Morton Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Katy, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-4.
