Volleyball Recap: Libby Sampson and Katie Tipton Secure Win for Cannon Falls

Cannon Falls won the last time they faced Woodbury and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bombers walked away with a 2-0 win over the Royals.

Cannon Falls was led to victory by Katie Tipton and LIbby Sampson. Tipton had ten digs and two assists, while Sampson hit 100% for six kills and nine digs and two aces. Sampson is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Taylor Reed also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Cannon Falls' victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Woodbury, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11-1.

Cannon Falls and Woodbury could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Bombers will take on Stewartville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (98 vs. 12). Meanwhile, Woodbury (ranked 167th) will meet Roseville (ranked 44th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
