Baseball Recap: Creekside Victorious

While Creekside's victory against Columbia wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Creekside Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Columbia Tigers 5-4. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Creekside got a great performance from Matthew Bysheim as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Bysheim also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Creekside is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Creekside's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Parker Morton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Creekside's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Columbia, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Creekside will head out on the road to take on North Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Creekside has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Columbia, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Columbia Tigers challenge Buchholz Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
