Volleyball Recap: La Joya Community Comes Up Short

La Joya Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting Lobos of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Brielle Amarel was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had ten digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last six games.

La Joya Community now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-8 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Joya Community will square off against Glendale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they will take on Arizona Lutheran Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
