Basketball Recap: Argonia Drops Season-High Score on Sedan

Argonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 68-55 to the Sedan Devils. One positive for the Raiders, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Argonia's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MANUEL FERNANDEZ, who posted 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Carson Vineyard, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 16 points and five steals.

Even though they lost, Argonia was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Sedan found their leader in freshman Jem Gooden, who went 10 for 16 en route to 21 points and eight boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gooden has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Dowell, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Argonia's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Sedan, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Argonia beat Sedan by a score of 50-42 on Saturday.
