Softball Game Preview: Juanita Sanchez Complex Cavaliers vs. Mt. Pleasant Kilties

Juanita Sanchez Complex is 8-1-1 against Mt. Pleasant since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cavaliers will be playing at home against the Kilties at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Juanita Sanchez Complex's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.

Juanita Sanchez Complex took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against Central Falls, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cavaliers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors on Wednesday, sneaking past 28-27. The Cavaliers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Josmeily Minier was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julisa Smith, who got on base in all seven of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, six runs, and one double.

Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Tiverton, falling 16-0.

Juanita Sanchez Complex's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Mt. Pleasant, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Everything went Juanita Sanchez Complex's way against Mt. Pleasant in their previous meeting back in April, as Juanita Sanchez Complex made off with a 22-1 win. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Kilties have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
