Silver Creek's loss ends six-game winning streak on the road

Recap: Silver Creek Raptors vs. Windsor Wizards

It was a good run, but the Silver Creek Raptors unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Windsor, falling 84-47. Silver Creek has not had much luck with Windsor recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Silver Creek still got an impressive performance from Gabe Selby, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Zander Storz was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.

Windsor found their leader in underclassman Madden Smiley, who scored 22 points. Smiley continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was John Backhaus, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Silver Creek's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2. As for Windsor, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Creek will take on Greeley Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greeley Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Silver Creek is ranked 22nd). As for Windsor, they will be playing at home against Centaurus at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Centaurus is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
