Basketball Recap: Independence Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Independence can now relate to. They fell to the Greenbrier East Spartans 55-50. The Patriots have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Greenbrier East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Independence does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greenbrier East, they will square off against Ripley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Ripley sitting on five straight victories and Greenbrier East on seven.
