Soccer Game Preview: Middle Creek vs. Green Hope

The Middle Creek Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Green Hope Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Middle Creek is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Middle Creek's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Holly Springs on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Middle Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Holly Springs are ranked 11th).

Meanwhile, Green Hope came up short against Apex Friendship on Wednesday, falling 4-1. The defeat continues a trend for Green Hope in their meetings with Apex Friendship: they've now lost nine in a row.

Middle Creek's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Green Hope, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12-2.

Middle Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Green Hope when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
