Softball Recap: Wheatmore Takes a Loss

If Wheatmore was feeling good fresh off their 17-11 takedown of Eastern Randolph on April 9th, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors lost 6-0 to the Southwestern Randolph Cougars on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.

Adalyn Boles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.

Wheatmore has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Southwestern Randolph, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Wheatmore and Southwestern Randolph will both be playing Uwharrie Charter Academy the next time they take the field. The Warriors will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
