Baseball Game Preview: Wrightstown Tigers vs. Freedom Irish

For the second straight game, Wrightstown will face off against Freedom. The Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Irish at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Wrightstown beat Freedom 8-5. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Irish: they've now won four in a row.

Rogan Thompson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Thompson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Theo Van Rossum was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Michael Besel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Wrightstown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The last time their batting average was this high was was before the start of last season.

Wrightstown's record is now 4-2. As for Freedom, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
