Basketball Game Preview: Neuse Christian Academy Lions vs. Hilltop Christian Chargers

The Neuse Christian Academy Lions will challenge the Hilltop Christian Chargers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Neuse Christian Academy came up short against St. Thomas More Academy on Friday, falling 42-20. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Chancellors: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Hilltop Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 32-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilmington Christian Academy.

Neuse Christian Academy will need focus on slowing down Meleah Bell, one of several Hilltop Christian players who made an impact when they last played. She posted six points along with 13 boards and three steals. That's the most rebounds Bell has posted since back in February of 2024.

Neuse Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Hilltop Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-8.
