Football Preview: Shawnee Renegades vs. Cherokee Chiefs
The Shawnee Renegades will square off against the Cherokee Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cherokee took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Shawnee, who comes in off a win.
Shawnee is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 42-14 win over Lenape. The victory continues a trend for the Renegades in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won five in a row.

Shawnee found their leader in sophomore Cole Anderson, who rushed for 65 yards and three scores. Those three rushing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Anderson. Tyler Nickles got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 24 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Nickles, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.
Meanwhile, Cherokee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 24-20 heartbreaker at the hands of Atlantic City.
Shawnee now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cherokee, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Shawnee came up short against Cherokee in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 7-3.
