Volleyball Recap: Schalmont Comes Up Short

Schalmont lost against Colonie Central back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sabres lost 3-0 to the Wolfpack.

Schalmont was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-20.

Nadia Sawyer paced Schalmont's offense, picking up 14 kills. Sawyer got some help from Olivia Dagostino and her 17 assists. Gabby Lopez and Brooke Howlan kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Colonie Central can attribute much of their success to Zoey Simon, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Schalmont has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Colonie Central, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 7-9-2.

Schalmont has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Ichabod Crane on the 21st. As for Colonie Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Averill Park on the 21st.
