Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Huntingtown). They blew past the La Plata Warriors 69-40 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Hurricanes who have now won five matches in a row.

Huntingtown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eva Powell, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Powell's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Autumn Harrod, who went 6 of 11 on her way to 14 points and seven boards.

Huntingtown was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Plata only posted five assists.

La Plata's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aniyah Sisco, who posted 18 points and five rebounds. That was a full 45% of La Plata's points, marking the 16th time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Samiyah Elliot, who scored ten points.

Huntingtown's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for La Plata, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Huntingtown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-49 victory against St. Charles on the 5th. La Plata has also already played their next matchup, a 55-47 win against Patuxent on the 5th.
