Softball Recap: Williston Extends Winning Streak to Three

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Williston had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Bronson Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Bronson's batters probably weren't too happy with Emily Asencion, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up five walks).

At the plate, Brooklyn Bertrand was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace McDaniel, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

The victory was the third in a row for Williston, bringing their record up to 13-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Bronson, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 14-12 record.

Looking ahead, Williston will square off against Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Red Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Bronson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
