Basketball Recap: St. Patrick Academy Comes Up Short

St. Patrick Academy won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They came up short against the Prout Crusaders, falling 63-40. The Padres haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why St. Patrick Academy lost, don't look at Steph Lora. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points. That was a full 40% of St. Patrick Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julius Brogan, who put up ten points.

Prout had a senior duo take command as Charlie Horne shot 7-for-13 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds and Lawson O'Hearn dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. The match was Horne's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mike Brugnoli, who earned 11 points.

St. Patrick Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Prout, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

St. Patrick Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-37 defeat against Central Falls on the 29th. As for Prout, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-67 loss against Toll Gate on the 29th.
