Baseball Game Preview: Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats vs. Pana Panthers

The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats will take on the Pana Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Newton, falling 14-6.

Wyatt Rueff put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rueff was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Rueff wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Conner Nowitzke, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Nowitzke a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Pana lost 15-5 to Greenville on Friday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Parker Moore was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Madyx Angel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Pana's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City took their victory against Pana in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 by a conclusive 16-6. Will Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City repeat their success, or does Pana has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
