Mesick scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Northern Michigan Christian Comets by a score of 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since January 16, 2024.

Mesick lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Madi Putney, who to rack up 27 points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (45%). Cassie Sexton was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine assists.

Even though they lost, Mesick was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Mesick's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Northern Michigan Christian, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mesick and Traverse City Christian will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played.
