Football Recap: East Ridge Starts Season with Win Against Eustis

East Ridge had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Eustis Panthers 37-0. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

East Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Karon Palmer Jr, who threw for 125 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. Lamar Garrison also helped with two touchdowns in total.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to East Ridge's defense and their 3.5 sacks. Gabriel Maldonado refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Another thorn in Eustis' side was Maldonado, who picked up 1.5 sacks and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).

East Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 28-25 victory against Mount Dora on the 28th. As for Eustis, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-6 win against Atlantic on the 29th.
