Softball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four contests, Eastern finally came back down to earth on Monday. They fell just short of the Symmes Valley Vikings by a score of 1-0. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Eastern's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-2-1. As for Symmes Valley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2.

Eastern and Symmes Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 181st) will meet Western (ranked 601st) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Symmes Valley will challenge South Gallia at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (59 vs. 614).
