Basketball Recap: Samantha Coble's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Steinbrenner over Bloomingdale

Steinbrenner has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 29.42 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They took a 69-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bloomingdale Bulls. It was the first time this season that the Warriors let down their fans at home.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samantha Coble, who posted 12 points. What's more, Coble also posted a 57% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Sarah Coble was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bloomingdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izellah Kendrick, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. The match was Kendrick's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelle Mengel, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Steinbrenner's defeat dropped their record down to 22-2. As for Bloomingdale, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.

Steinbrenner didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 92-15 win against East Lake on the 6th. As for Bloomingdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-14 victory against Gaither on the 6th.
