Basketball Recap: Ian Mcintyre's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Jordan over Juan Diego Catholic

West Jordan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle, falling 75-49. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-55 back in January.

West Jordan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ian Mcintyre, who posted seven points in addition to five boards and three steals. Mckay Franz was another key player, putting up ten points.

Even though they lost, West Jordan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Juan Diego Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Meyer led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds. Meyer's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Stockton Young, who earned 15 points and six assists.

West Jordan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Juan Diego Catholic, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

West Jordan has already played their next game, an 81-66 win against Hunter on the 3rd. As for Juan Diego Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 73-27 victory against Granger on the 3rd.
