Basketball Recap: Jones Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jhi Smith and James Simpson

Jones Christian Academy was the 68-46 winner over Full Life Christian Academy when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Warrior fell 69-63 to the Falcons on Tuesday. The loss put an end to the Warrior's undefeated start to the season.

James Simpson and Jhi Smith certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Simpson shot 63% from the field on his way to 30 points and three steals, while Smith almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine assists. Simpson is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Victor Randall, who posted 13 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jones Christian Academy fell to 2-1. As for Full Life Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Jones Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Gulf Pointe Latin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Full Life Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-12 defeat against L.E.A.D. Academy on the 11th.
