Basketball Recap: Waterville Comes Up Short

If Waterville was riding high fresh off their 60-36 takedown of Curlew last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Waterville Shockers had to suffer through a 59-32 loss at the hands of the Davenport Gorillas. The contest marked the Shockers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Waterville's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2. As for Davenport, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Waterville will welcome Pateros at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Davenport, they will head out to take on Northwest Christian School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Christian School will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Davenport surely won't give up without a fight.
