Softball Recap: Del Norte Beats Rancho Bernardo for Their Third Straight Victory

Del Norte entered their tilt with Rancho Bernardo on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Broncos. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 6-4 victory back in April.

Brooklyn Giaime made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Gia Gerardi was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Lainey LLamas, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Del Norte's record now sits at 13-8-1. As for Rancho Bernardo, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-10-1.
