Soccer Game Preview: James Wood vs. Clarke County

The James Wood Colonels will take on the Clarke County Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

James Wood is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Liberty on Wednesday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Clarke County didn't have quite enough to beat Handley on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Clarke County in their meetings with Handley: they've now lost three in a row.

Clarke County's goal came courtesy of Jonah Ziercher, who's now up to two this season.

With that draw, James Wood's record moves to 3-0-1. As for Clarke County, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

James Wood beat Clarke County by a goal in their previous matchup on Friday, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Wood since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
