Basketball Game Preview: Cary Academy Chargers vs. Raleigh HomeSchool Hawks

The Cary Academy Chargers will face off against the Raleigh HomeSchool Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Cary Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season.

Cary Academy came up short against Ravenscroft on Tuesday, falling 69-48. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Cary Academy got top-tier performance from Aidan Rousseau, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. Rousseau has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Julian Tweedy was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Raleigh HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-55 heartbreaker at the hands of Heritage Leadership Academy.

Cary Academy now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Raleigh HomeSchool, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Everything came up roses for Cary Academy against Raleigh HomeSchool when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the team secured an 83-51 victory. In that contest, Cary Academy amassed a halftime lead of 44-21, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
