Appling County suffers 16th straight loss on the road

Recap: Appling County Pirates vs. Wayne County Yellow Jackets

The Appling County Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 55-33 walloping at the hands of Wayne County. Appling County has not had much luck with Wayne County recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lj Nance, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Gillis, who scored eight points.

Appling County dropped their record down to 1-20 with that loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wayne County, their win bumped their record up to 5-17.

Appling County and Toombs County will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Toombs County will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
