Oak Mountain couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Vestavia Hills Rebels 43-7 on Tuesday.

A big part of Vestavia Hills' victory came down to the chemistry between Julia Rose and her top target Callie Davis. Rose threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns while Davis picked up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown. Rose is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in the last four games she's played. Molly Mac Sharp got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win (which was Vestavia Hills' fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Mountain is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Prattville on Wednesday. Prattville's defense has only allowed 10.9 points per game this season, so Oak Mountain's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Vestavia Hills, they are on the road again on Tuesday to play Spain Park at 5:30 p.m.
