There's no place like home for Redmond, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Liberty Patriots a 5-0 shutout on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 back in March.

The result came thanks to Hiroshi Johnson's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Redmond saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lance Burt, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Jay Heath, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Redmond is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Liberty, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Redmond will welcome Kentwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs are facing the Conquerors at the right time seeing as the Conquerors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Liberty, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Edmonds-Woodway at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
