Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Pryor

Pryor entered their tilt with McAlester on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Buffaloes by a score of 9-4. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly five runs.

Gavin Roberts was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Carter Sloan was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brock Ward, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Pryor's victory bumped their record up to 21-10. As for McAlester, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pryor will welcome Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McAlester, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Wright City at 5:00 p.m. The Lumberjax's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Buffaloes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
