Baseball Recap: Eastern Randolph Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Eastern Randolph walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Northeastern Eagles on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won ten games in a row.

Cade McCallum and Chance Holdaway made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, McCallum pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Holdaway struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). McCallum has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At the plate, McCallum got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, while Holdaway went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Isaiah Batchelor was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Avery Wright was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four RBI.

Eastern Randolph was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Eastern Randolph's win bumped their record up to 17-11. As for Northeastern, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

As of now, neither Eastern Randolph nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
