Baseball Game Preview: Central Dauphin Rams vs. State College Little Lions

The Central Dauphin Rams will square off against the State College Little Lions at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Dauphin will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Central Dauphin is returning to their home field after beating Cumberland Valley on theirs, despite the fact Cumberland Valley has dominated at home this season. The Rams came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 7-3 on Thursday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Central Dauphin got a great performance from Declan Musselman as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Musselman a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jace Collins, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tommy Powell, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, State College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-2 to Cumberland Valley, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

State College's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Central Dauphin, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Central Dauphin took their victory against State College in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Little Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
